Spirited Away is the film that consistently moves me, entertains me, connects me to my convoluted view of reality and challenges me as a parent. There isn’t a character there that in some way I relate to, whether it be Sen’s innocent confusion, Haku’s noble hypocrisy, No Face’s desire to be loved, the parent’s gluttony and even Yubaba’s drive for money to make the bathhouse running. The fantasy and the nobility is constantly inspiring. I just can’t get enough of it. So much so that I make a vow not to mention it in the rest of the list. (Well, I'll try, anyway)
